Zuvor war er stellvertretender Chefredakteur bei The Pioneer und Leiter des Hauptstadtbüros des RedaktionsNetzwerks Deutschland. Seine journalistische Laufbahn führte ihn von der taz über die San Diego Union-Tribune bis zum Spiegel, für den er als Korrespondent in Washington, D.C. tätig war. Für seine Arbeit wurde er mehrfach ausgezeichnet.

How is Europe positioning itself in a changing world – and what signals are coming from Berlin? Gordon Repinski is one of Germany’s most prominent political observers. As Senior Executive Editor of POLITICO Germany, he heads the politics competence centre and oversees the Berlin Playbook – both as newsletter author and podcast host.

Previously, he served as Deputy Editor-in-Chief at The Pioneer and headed the Berlin bureau of the RedaktionsNetzwerk Deutschland. His journalistic career has taken him from taz and the San Diego Union-Tribune to Der Spiegel, where he worked as a correspondent in Washington, D.C. His reporting has earned him multiple awards.

At the EEF 2025, Gordon Repinski will offer an initial political assessment after six months of the Merz government – examining what Berlin’s new priorities mean for Europe’s economy, security and international capacity to act.
