Sir Tim Hitchens

Sir Tim Hitchens wurde 2018 nach 35 Jahren im britischen diplomatischen Dienst zum Präsidenten des Wolfson College in Oxford gewählt. Er studierte Englisch am Christ's College in Cambridge. Zuletzt war er als britischer Botschafter in Tokio im Einsatz, bevor er von März 2017 bis April 2018 Chef der Commonwealth Summit Unit wurde. Zuvor war er Afrika- und Europadirektor im Auswärtigen Amt und war in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Frankreich und Japan tätig. Vier Jahre lang war er stellvertretender Privatsekretär der Königin. Sir Tim Hitchens spricht Japanisch und Französisch.

Sir Tim Hitchens was elected as President of Wolfson College, Oxford in 2018 after 35 years in the British Diplomatic Service. He studied English at Christ’s, College Cambridge. His last overseas posting was as British Ambassador to Tokyo, before becoming Chief Executive of the Commonwealth Summit Unit from March 2017 to April 2018. Earlier in his career he was Africa Director and Europe Director in the Foreign Office, and his postings took him to Pakistan, Afghanistan, France and Japan. For four years, he was Assistant Private Secretary to The Queen. Sir Tim Hitchens speaks Japanese and French.
