Daniel Neuenschwander is the Head of Human and Robotic Research at the European Space Agency (ESA). In his position, Daniel Neuenschwander is responsible for all aspects of human and robotic research, including strategy development, program implementation, and benefit assessment.
Before joining ESA, he was Head of the Swiss Space Office (SSO) and Swiss Delegation to ESA, as well as Chair of the Program Board (PB-LAU). He also served as Deputy Swiss State Secretary for Space Affairs, including the ESA Co-Presidency at Ministerial level.
Daniel Neuenschwander received his pilot's license from the Swissair Fliegerschule in Zurich and trained as a pilot with the Swiss Air Force. He then graduated from the University of Fribourg with a master's degree in physical geography and climatology.
