The increased formation of global geopolitical and economic blocs has dramatically changed free trade and international cooperation in the last decade. What is the role and future of multilateralism today? What influence does this have on European industrial and economic policy and strategy? And what are the implications of the fact that trade policy is increasingly becoming a question of national security?

Former Spanish Foreign Minister Arancha González is an expert on international trade and brings together perspectives and experiences from national and international politics, global (trade) governance and business. At the Annual Meeting 2024, she will show us ways in which Europe can develop into a strong, independent economic bloc and discuss what is important today for internationally active managers to successfully navigate the company through economically and politically complex realities.

Arancha González is Dean of the Paris School of International Affairs at Sciences Po and the first woman to hold this position. Previously, González was Spain's Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation (2020-2021). González is an advocate for inclusive and sustainable trade.
