Former Federal Councillor Doris Leuthard has been involved in the Lucerne Dialogue Initiative for years as Co-President of the Advisory Board and will also play an active role in the discussions on the various stages at the Annual Meeting 2024.
Doris Leuthard was a National Councillor, party president of the CVP and a member of the Swiss Federal Council from 2006 to 2018. Initially as head of the Department of Economic Affairs, from 2010 she headed the Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications (DETEC). During her time in office, she was twice President and Vice President of the Swiss Confederation. Under Leuthard's leadership of the Department of Economic Affairs, the free trade agreement with China was prepared, which her successor was able to conclude. She also initiated the gradual nuclear phase-out in the Federal Council following the nuclear disaster in Fukushima in 2011 and is regarded as the initiator of the energy transition.
