Democracy Days

Democracy Days is a plug-and-play framework that empowers companies to give employees dedicated time and space to participate in democratic life. As voter engagement declines across Europe, many citizens feel uncertain about the impact of their contribution, weakening trust and increasing vulnerability to misinformation.

Democracy Days turns workplaces into catalysts for civic participation, aiming to help generate 10 million additional voters in the next EU elections. Through a clear, scalable process – selecting a topic, preparing with practical toolkits, facilitating Democracy Days, and measuring outcomes – the framework makes democratic engagement easier, more accessible, and meaningfully supported where people spend most of their time: at work.

UNBUBBLE

The platform UNBUBBLE connects people with different views and fosters dialogue beyond ideological bubbles. As polarisation grows, democracy weakens. Our mission is to strengthen civic debate by enabling open, constructive conversations. After a short survey on worldview topics, users are matched with someone holding contrasting opinions. Guided moderation ensures respectful exchanges. Participants develop skills for civil, compassionate dialogue and can become certified Constructive Debaters. Let’s UNBUBBLE.A Community Garden at TUM Campus Heilbronn fosters democratic participation through shared gardening and dialogue. Supported by a project manager, gardener, and tech tools, it unites stakeholders, businesses, and the community to address shared challenges. Monthly events and harvest donations promote collaboration, with sponsorships ensuring lasting impact.

Room4Voices

Room4Voices is a platform that makes local resources visible and accessible by matching supply and demand. It tackles a common issue: civic initiatives often lack spaces and expertise. Businesses list rooms, skills and non-financial support; community groups search and book what they need. This turns unused capacities into concrete support for local projects and strengthens civil society.

Community Catalyst Bank

The Community Catalyst Bank is a local funding mechanism that helps communities see themselves as places full of assets. Residents pool resources, which are then matched by the municipality and strengthened by businesses and philanthropists. After funding new initiatives, communities recognise its multiplying power – and establish their own innovation bank to drive ongoing local impact.

Health Resilience Sandbox

European healthcare adopts AI faster than it can secure it, leaving systems exposed to cybersecurity attacks, failures and data breaches. The Health Resilience Sandbox fills this gap by providing a secure setting to model adversarial attacks, simulate scenarios, and strengthen AI systems before deployment. It’s the first initiative that brings together healthcare providers, technology developers, security actors, regulators and governments to prepare for crises, while laying the groundwork to restore trust in public institutions.
